CHALLENGE
An unutilized mother-in-law dominated the first floor of this beautiful View Ridge home, cramming the needs of a young family into a galley kitchen that separated the dining and entertaining areas. The current owners dreamt of a chef’s kitchen that served as the beating heart of a new open concept entertaining space.
SOLUTION
The clients had a clear design vision, so SBNW worked closely with them to execute it faithfully. To create their bespoke hood surround, we diligently sourced custom materials and contracted a tile artisan to hand-cut each piece to achieve a groutless look. To pull off the open layout they desired, SBNW had to reduce the guest ensuite bathroom and relocate the powder room.
OUTCOME
The tile hood surround truly became the gem of the kitchen and the clients finally got an entertainment space befitting their wants and needs. Working directly with homeowners is a joy for SBNW. It’s also an opportunity to educate on the utility of materials so clients can make the best choices for their needs.
